What are branded t-shirts used for?

Branded t-shirts are printed tees carrying a company logo or campaign artwork, used for events, promotions, team days, staff casual wear and giveaways. They're the highest-volume garment in corporate merchandise because they're affordable at scale — screen printing for flat artwork at quantity, DTF for full-colour designs. Brandful supplies branded t-shirts across South Africa with no minimum orders and full size runs.

The cheap tee is the expensive one

T-shirts are where merchandise budgets get seduced by unit price. The cheapest blank exists, prints fine, and photographs acceptably at the event — then goes translucent in the wash, twists at the seams, and finishes its life as a car rag wearing your logo. The better tee gets kept: worn to gym, to sleep, to Saturday errands, each wear a free impression.

Divide cost by wears and the cheap shirt is the expensive one. If the tee is a true one-day event item, buy cheap deliberately and know that's what you did — but if there's any chance of an afterlife, buy the blank people keep.

Branding guidance

Screen print or DTF?

Screen printing wins at volume with flat artwork — up to a few solid colours, crisp and cost-effective once quantities climb, because the setup is amortised across the run. DTF wins for full-colour designs, gradients, photographs and mixed small runs: no per-colour setup and excellent detail.

The crossover is simple — count your colours and count your quantity. Where it's close, the quote shows both so you can see the trade. Full method guidance sits on the corporate clothing pillar.

The tee is rarely the whole order

Crowd days run on tees and branded caps together; the office layer above them is a branded golf shirt and, from May, a branded jacket. Same artwork, one layout file, one delivery — brief the whole kit at once and the size list only gets collected once.

How much do branded t-shirts cost?

+
Screen for flat artwork at volume; DTF for full-colour, gradients and small mixed runs. The quote recommends a method per artwork, and shows both where it’s close.
